PORAC, Pampanga–Incumbent Mayor Jaime “Jing” Capil is seeking for a second term as he filed his Certificate of Candidacy (COC) before the local Commission on Elections on Friday, October 8.

Capil, along with his running mate Vice Mayor aspirant and incumbent Councilor Francis “Budoy” Tamayo and Sanggunian Bayan bets, will be running under Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda’s Kapanalig at Kambilan ding Memalen Pampanga (Kambilan) political party.

Joining Capil and Tamayo in their team are candidates for councilor reelectionist Michelle Bengco; Barangay Palat Captain Bong Buan; Barangay Manibaug Libutad Captain Joel Capil, who is also the younger brother of Mayor Capil; Barangay Manibaug Paralaya Captain Adrian “Papay” Carreon; Barangay Pio and Model Community Captain Ayot Dimalanta; Barangay Pias Captain Noel Manalo; neophyte Engineer Joy David, daughter of Engineer Segnor David; and former Sangguniang Kabataan Chairman Jovy Venzon.

Capil’s slate carries the name “Team Bayung Porac,” the same political group he ran under in 2019. For 2022, the team will carry the slogan, “Isundu ing Pamagbayu para king asensung Poraqueño.”

Before filing their COCs, Team Bayung Porac attended a thanksgiving mass at St. Catherine Parish Church.

“Dakal pung salamat keng papakit yung suporta keng Bayung Porac. Ngeni pu, anyaran kung pasibayu ing suporta yu, emu kanaku. Nung e keng buung team tamu, kayabe pu para bise alkalde y Councilor Budoy Tamayo, ampo pu reng kandidatu tamu para konsehal,” Capil appealed during his speech at the thanksgiving mass.

According to Capil’s private legal consultant and public relations manager Atty. Sos Sian, the thanksgiving mass is for the mayor’s success in his first term.

For his second term, Atty. Sian said Capil and his team will continue to push for these programs: 1. Continuation of the municipality’s existing programs; 2. Eco-tourism; 3. Healthcare; 4. Economic Development; and 5. Education.

Existing programs of the local government led by Mayor Capil include programs on infrastructure development, eco-tourism, healthcare including efforts against Covid-19, and education.

For eco-tourism, Capil’s team is pushing for the development of various tourist spots in his town that can help generate jobs for Poraqueños.

For healthcare, the team aims to improve local hospital facilities including the establishment of a dialysis center and additional Covid-19 facilities.

For economic development, the team will continue to invite investors that will put up essential establishments like commercial banks, and supermarkets so Poraqueños need not do business outside of town.

For education, Capil and his team will push for the establishment of a local technical school for young Poraqueños.

Capil said his whole slate is in support of these agendas and vowed to work together with him for a better Porac.
