CAMI holds successful 6th Clark Golf Cup tourney

CLARK FREEPORT – It was another successful golf tournament as the Capampangan in Media, Inc. (CAMI) held its 6th Clark Golf Cup at the Mimosa Golf Course here on Friday.

Swinging for the ceremonial tee off were Clark Development Corp. president and CEO Noel F. Manankil and former congressman Yeng Guiao while CAMI Trustee Max Sangil joined the tee off ceremony with his patented drive.

Perennial winner Elmer Ngo once again emerged over-all champion beating 28 other golfers who joined the tournament which was played at the championship Mountainview course.

Roland Carandang of Smart Communications bagged the Class A champion while Ethan Koe Sanchez also of Smart Communications was the 1st Runner Up.

DPWH Assistant District Engineer Lawrence Cruz made it as Class B champion with newsman Eric Jimenez as Runner Up.

Jessie Castillo of Manila Water was the Class C champion and Tarlac businessman Genaro Dijamco as Class C Runner Up.

Gold Ong represented Elmer Ngo, president and CEO of CherryLume & Sumo, during the awarding.

Among the major sponsors for this year are San Miguel Corporation, Smart Communications, Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, Liwayway Marketing (maker of the beloved iconic snack brand Oishi prawn crackers), Cherrylume, Mileage Asia, Development Bank of the Philippines, Agila ng Bayan, NLEX Corporation and Hausland Development Corporation among others.

The Clark Cup series is organized by CAMI, a 15-year-old organization of senior Capampangan journalists, in cooperation with the Clark Development Corporation.

It seeks to promote the sporting values of golf and raise funds for CAMI’s ongoing journalism-related projects including its much-needed Medical Assistance Program.
