CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) currently upgrades a road at barangay Kalikid Sur, Cabanatuan City.
In particular, it earmarked P5.95 million for concreting a road in Villa Emilia Subdivision.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad said roads within Villa Emilia Subdivision were donated to the city government of Cabanatuan in 1999 and are now being used as public roads.
“We are currently paving a 707.50-meter stretch of local roads in this community. Once completed, this project will greatly improve mobility for the residents of barangay Kalikid Sur, making it easier for them to travel by foot or vehicle to the Bangad-Fort Magsaysay Road,” Trinidad added.
It can also prevent damage to vehicles that may be caused by traversing poorly maintained roads.
The project is part of the agency’s Basic Infrastructure Program, which is funded by the General Appropriations Act of 2023. (CLJD-PIA 3)
