BALANGA CITY– Business went on as usual on Monday in Regional Trial Courts at the Benigno Aquino Hall of Justice at the Bataan Capitol compound here.
Some court employees wore black or purple shirts reportedly to show sympathy to impeached Chief Justice Renato Corona. They, however, chose to remain silent and just continued with their office work.
Presiding Judge Manuel M. Tan of RTC Branch II said there was no work holiday in all courts in Bataan.
Some inmates from the Bataan District Jail under the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology arrived in the Hall of Justice ready to attend a court hearing. Other people lined benches waiting for the trial to begin.
Some private lawyers hurriedly left to watch on television the impeachment proceedings. “Historical ito kaya magandang mapanood ang pagsisimula,” they said.
