MALOLOS CITY (PIA) – The Bulacan Police Provincial Office (BPPO) has launched a blood donation drive initiative to ensure a steady and accessible supply of blood for police officers who may be injured in the line of duty.
This was reinforced during a bloodletting event jointly led by the BPPO and the Provincial Advisory Group on Police Transformation, in coordination with the Philippine Red Cross.
Approximately 250 volunteers, mostly criminology students, donated blood after meeting the eligibility requirements set by the Philippine Red Cross.

BPPO officer-in-charge Colonel Franklin Estoro stressed that the initiative is part of the police’s ongoing efforts to strengthen emergency preparedness and welfare.
He added that this will not only benefit wounded officers in need of transfusions, but also patients suffering from serious illnesses.
“Every drop of blood collected during this effort can make a tremendous difference. It will be free of charge to those in need through the Philippine Red Cross, following their established blood donation policies and the agreement made with BPPO,” Estoro added.
He also called on healthy Bulacan residents to take part in future blood donation drives, and encouraged them to coordinate with Camp Alejo Santos or the Philippine Red Cross.
The collected blood will be stored in Philippine Red Cross blood banks located in San Rafael, Marilao, Malolos City, and City of San Jose Del Monte. (MJSC/VFC, PIA Region 3-Bulacan)
