MALOLOS CITY—Most of the delegates prepared for the worst expecting accommodation woes in the annual Central Luzon Regional Athletic Association sports competition hosted by the province of Bulacan.

However, they were surprised to see that “everything is almost ok and we were all praises for what the host province did no matter how brief the preparation was.”

This came after concerns on accommodations of delegates from 18 participating schools divisions in Central Luzon was raised.

“Very smooth,” said a Rosever Pascua, head of the Angeles City Sports Office.

He also said that Bulacan’s coordinated welcome on every delegation is the first and the best in the history of the CLRAA meet noting that every year, there are always problems in accommodations.

Pascua also cited the presence of a representative of the provincial government to every billeting center who coordinated concerns which were quickly addressed.

An example is the electrical line at a public school here which tripped after the Angeles City delegates installed a freezer and other electric powered equipment.

“They immediately replaced the electrical line because that is only good for low electric voltage, and we need stronger electrical line,” he said.

According to Provincial Administrator Jim Valerio, they were tasked by Gov. Wilhelmino Alvarado to address all the needs of the every delegate.

“We were told that there is no excuse for failure,” Valerio said.

For his part, Alvarado said that what they have done is not enough and they are still trying to monitor other concerns.

He also sent a text message to Punto assuring that athletes and delegates will not pay any single cent for the accommodation.

Valerio on the other hand coordinated with Malolos City Administrator Zaldy Mendoza to address the situation and avoid embarrassment for the province and the city.

He said that he is also hoping that Bulacan delegates will again rule the annual CLRAA meet which the province is defending for the 15th time.

Last week, sources told Punto Central Luzon that some public school administrators in Malolos City were demanding P5,000 donation from delegation for using their facilities.

The said money allegedly will be used for electrical consumption and repair.
