CABANATUAN CITY – A total of 838 saplings, including 138 fruit bearing trees, were planted in two separate locations by broadcasters and volunteers from various organizations during the 13th year of Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas-Nueva Ecija Chapter’s “Oplan BroadcasTreeing” on Sept. 30.

KBP-NE chairperson E. Joy Galvez-Dominado, said they also launched Oplan K.B.P or Kumot, Bigas at iba Pa by giving away goods to 61 Aeta families in Barangay Dona Josefa, Palayan City on the same day.

Dominado, chairperson of Vanguard Radio Network (VRN) and manager of DWWG-FM/DZXO-AM, said 700 narra seedlings were planted by hundreds of volunteers from KBP member stations and 18 participating organizations at the National Greening Program area in Sitio Bacao, Dona Josefa in Palayan City.

They distributed the blankets, rice, bread and biscuits, and feminine products to Aeta beneficiaries at the village hall afterwards.

The activities were part of the KBP’s 50th anniversary celebration, she said.

The 138 fruit bearing trees were planted at the grandstand field of the Army’s 7th Infantry Division inside Fort Ramon Magsaysay in Palayan City.

“The officers and organizing committee of the KBP-NE would like to thank all valuable partners and participants of KBP Oplan BroadcasTreeing 2023,” Dominado said.

She also expressed gratitude to partners and sponsors in the gift-giving.
