CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – Environmental activist and radio broadcaster Joey Estriber continued to be missing two years after four alleged soldiers abducted him in Baler, Aurora on the evening of March 3, 2006, his wife Lourdes said by phone on Wednesday.

“Joey nor his abductors have not sent words or signs that he is still alive,” Lourdes said by phone.

She and her five children, aged four to 10, observed the third anniversary of Estriber’s forced disappearance by going to Mass.

Estriber, 35 then, was typing a report in an Internet café near the Baler electric cooperative office when four armed men seized him at around 7 p.m. and threw him inside a heavily tinted maroon Kia Besta van without a license plate.

Several weeks of search by the Bataris, a Catholic Church-supported non-government organization where he worked as a program officer, turned for naught, according to his co-worker Josefina Marino.
