SENATE Committee on Health Chairperson Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go inspected the on-going construction of the “Super Health Center” in Barangay Lawacamulag in San Jose town, March 9.
The senator was welcomed by Governor Susan Yap, Tarlac second district Representative Christian Tell Yap, San Jose Mayor Romeo Capitulo, members of the San Jose Sangguniang Bayan and officers of the Department of Health (DoH).
The Super Health Center is the brainchild of Go and is aimed at bringing quality medical services to local communities and it has the full-backing of the DoH and his colleagues at the senate.
“Bahagi ito ng layunin natin na mas mapalakas pa ang ating healthcare system para hindi na tayo mabulagang muli sakaling may sumulpot na namang panibagong mga sakit. Magiging malaking tulong ang facility na ito lalo na sa malalayong komunidad dahil kaya nitong tugunan ang mga emergency, panganganak, at iba pang serbisyong ipinagkakaloob sa mga ospital,” Go said.
For her part, Gov. Yap thanked Go for his full support to the people of Tarlac.
“Senator Bong Go came to check the Super Health Center Project and distribute financial aid to solo parents and the IP community. Maraming salamat sa iyong serbisyo, Senator,” she said.
Meanwhile, 973 indigent families in San Jose, mostly Aetas from the Aballen Tribe and solo parents received financial assistance from Go. They likewise received assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Some 649 indigent residents of Concepcion also received financial assistance from the senator and the DSWD.—Arvin F. M. Cabalu
