MABALACAT, Pampanga – The mayor of this town toasted Gov. Lilia “Nanay Baby” Pineda “good health” as she celebrated her 61st birthday on Tuesday.

Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales said he “wished and prayed” for Pineda “to stay strong and healthy so that she can continue helping more people.”

“I have seen hardworking leaders but no one comes close to the energy of our governor when it comes to serving the people, especially the poor and the sick,” he added.

Morales said the sincerity of Pineda as governor had made her “succeed.”

In a phone interview on her birthday on February 21, Pineda said “thank you” to all those who had greeted her, including Morales.

She said she wants to fast track the development of the eco-tourism projects at Nabuklod in Flordablanca, Pampanga.

“I want to it done by summer because so many are now interested in visiting and staying overnight in Nabuklod,” said Pineda in the dialect.

She said she had asked for the immediate completion of rooms for guests at the hilly portion of Nabuklod.

Pampanga mayors, members of the provincial board and Capitol officials and workers attended the birthday celebration of Pineda on Monday in Nabuklod where more than 150 Aeta families reside.

“We have zip lines, cable cars and other soon-to-be announced adventure rides at Nabuklod ready for the whole family. The public can ride them all very soon,” she said.
