MABALACAT – A tourism council has been formed to highlight the prime destinations in this first class municipality and the Clark Freeport.
Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales, in a copy of the executive order obtained by Punto yesterday, said the council will initiate and prioritize tourism developmental programs and projects. He is the chairman of the Municipal Tourism Council (MTC).
Morales recently spoke at the regional meeting of the board members league of Central Luzon and urged its members to “enjoy the vast wholesome activities in our town and Clark.”
The board members are led by his townmate, First District Board Member Tars Halili.
Morales also asked the provincial legislators “to work hand in hand to promote tourism” in the region.
“The creation and organization of the council is also meant to direct the municipality in enhancing and exploring the potential of the town in becoming a tourist destination in the near future,” said Morales in the order. He added that “Mabalacat is now at the crossroads in tourism development as it is strategically exposed to regional counterparts with it available infrastructure in place.
Mabalacat Water District Chairman of the Board Deng Pangilinan is the vice chairman of the MTC. The members are veteran journalists Bong Lacson, Ashley Manabat and Municipal Tourism Officer Guy Hilbero.
