LIMAY, Bataan — The district office of the Bureau of Customs in the Port of Limay on Tuesday announced that it has exceeded its collection target for the month of April 2022 by more than P2.49 billion.

Lawyer William B. Balayo, BOC-Port of Limay district collector, said that their collection from April 1 to 30, 2022 reached P9,462,340,625, registering a surplus of P2,496,050,096 over their target.

Balayo, also a certified public accountant, said that collections for the months of January, February and March this year surpassed their target and higher than in 2021 for the same period.

Records showed that in January 2022, the Port of Limay collected P7,347,273,139 as against P3,052,834,617.73 for the same month in 2021.

On February 2022, it registered a revenue of P7,990,549,538 compared to P4,110,432,610.13 in 2021 while recording P10,870,352,157 in March this year against P6,077,500,259.01 last year.

For the whole year of 2021, the Bataan port has a total collection of more than P71.85B while from January to April 2022, it has already collected over P35.67B.

Balayo attributed the rise in their revenue collection to the values transformation campaign launched by BOC commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero while fixing the computer system and providing the offices with enough personnel.

“Commissioner Guerrero urged us to collect as much as we can. Kahit nakuha na target, sige pa rin,” the district collector said.
