The prophecies that the Blessed Mother has been conveying to us over the recent decades are unfolding. Some of them were in the future tense when, almost three decades ago, I first began to write about her prophecies in her various modern-day apparitions all over the world.
Now, some prophecies are past, such as the 9/11 terrorist attack on New York’s Twin Towers, but the more sensational ones remain in the future. One of them, the foretold change in global weather now in unprecedented twists and swerves, is happening. The rest, I am convinced, is laid out for the near future.
My focus, in the context of still awaited prophecies, has been the prognostications in Medjugorje. Garabandal and Akita where warnings against erring mankind are photo copies of each other. The way the world is going, it would seem the conditionality of the punishment that could follow the warning has become zilch. The future is not all good.
In Medjugorje, followers remain intrigued by the 10 secrets entrusted to some of the six visionaries. The secrets have been reported to be of worldwide impact. There is no doubt that, based on the hints gathered from the visionaries, the secrets echo the earlier messages of the Blessed Mother in the Garanbandal apparitions: a worldwide warning, a permanent miracle that could be televised, and, supposedly conditionally, an unprecedented chastisement that Akita was quite explicit about (this had been a subject of this column in the past and is repeated below).
Medjugorje visionary Mirjana has this to say about some of the 10 secrets: “The first two secrets come as advance warnings for the whole world and as proof the Blessed Virgin Mary is here in Medjugorje.”
She said the third secret concerns a “permanent, indestructible and beautiful” sign that will appear in Medjugorje on the hill of the first apparitions, which will remain until the end of the world. In Garabandal, such sign was also revealed, but the location differed as it would allegedly be located at the so-called “Pines” in Garabandal. There must be some credible interpretation of this conflict, but that is for another discussion.
Referring to this sign, the Blessed Mother said: “This sign will be given for the atheists. You faithful already have signs and you have become the sign for the atheists. You faithful must not wait for the sign before you convert; convert soon.”
The Blessed Mother further said: “This time is a time of grace for you. You can never thank God enough for His grace. The time is for deepening your faith and for your conversion. When the sign comes, it will be too late for many. The sign is to bring many to reconciliation and conversion. The Sign that will appear in Medjugorje will bring great joy to many.”
Then, another urgent appeal from the Mother of God: “Return to prayer. Nothing is more important than prayer.”
For her part, Mirjana said: “After the visible Sign those who are alive will have little time for conversion.”
After the sign, what? Again, the Akita messages approved by the local ordinary. Relaying the messages, or at least one terrible part of it, seems cruel enough. But since the Blessed Mother addressed herself to mankind, there could be nothing but wisdom and urgency in her declarations.
The Blessed Mother said as follows:
“As I told you, if men do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment on all humanity. It will be a punishment greater than the deluge, such as one will never have seen before. Fire will fall from the sky and will wipe out a great part of humanity, the good as well as the bad, sparing neither priests nor faithful. The survivors will find themselves so desolate that they will envy the dead. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the Sign left by My Son. Each day recite the prayers of the Rosary. With the Rosary, pray for the Pope, the bishops and priests.
“The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres (other priests); churches and altars will be sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.
“The demon will be especially implacable against souls consecrated to God. The thought of the loss of so many souls is the cause of my sadness. If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them.”
