ABUCAY, Bataan — Bishop Ruperto C. Santos of the Diocese of Balanga on Monday urged everyone to face the coming year “with much hope, to unite with one another, not to forget the family, and to put trust in our Creator.”
The Bataan prelate acknowledged that the current year had been marred by tragedy but that the people must not lose confidence.
“Oo nga’t tayo’y nahirapan, tayo’y nabigatan sa taong 2020 na may panganib na kakambal, subalit kailangang tayo ay humarap sa 2021 ng may pag-asa. Humarap tayo kung saan nakikipagtulungan tayo sa bawat isa. Palagi tayong lalapit at magtitiwala sa Diyos,” he said.
“Kailangan din natin ang pamilya, kailangan natin ang isa’t isa,” Santos added.
The pandemic caused by the dreaded coronavirus disease is one that made the lives of many people difficult during the current year but the bishop was hopeful that the country, especially Bataan, will surpass it under the guidance of the Almighty.
Santos officiated in the blessing of the new municipal hall of Abucay, Bataan located adjacent to the public market.
Municipal administrator Engr. Ernesto Vergara said total cost for building construction and accessories, including site development reached P120 million.
Vice Mayor Robin Tagle said that the construction of the new municipal hall was a priority project of Mayor Liberato Santiago, Jr. that every Abucay residents could be proud of.
