CLARK FREEPORT – With more reasons to say “Love ko to!,” McDonald’s has opened its Bike and Dine initiative at two of its branches at this freeport on Saturday.
McDonald’s C.M. Recto and McDonald’s Clark Gate along M.A. Roxas has set up bike racks with table countertops for outdoor dining for bikers to enjoy their meals in a comfortable stop over via its Drive-Thru set up.
The ceremonial ribbon-cutting was graced by McDonald’s Philippines managing director Margot Torres, Clark Development Corp. president and CEO Manuel Gaerlan, Bases Conversion and Development Authority president and CEO Vince Dizon, and Provincial Board Member Cherry Manalo on behalf of Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
According to Torres, the Bike and Dine idea started in the Philippines and focuses on an al fresco design concept. Torres shared that there are already two Bike and Dine stations in the country which are in McDonald’s Taguig City and Imus, Cavite. McDonald’s also plans to put 15 more Bike and Dine stations by the end of this year.
Meanwhile, Dizon said Clark has become a major riding destination for cyclists and bike enthusiasts in the country promoting alternative transportation and mobility as more than a thousand bikers come from different parts of the province and as far as Manila and in the North.
Dizon also shared that Clark is currently finishing its Phase 2 on bike lanes as it should open in a month while the Phase 3 will start by late this year.
Gaerlan, for his part, said to encourage people to pedal more as an alternative transportation as well as a healthy lifestyle, they have already sent advisory to the locators and restaurants to put up bicycle racks to accommodate the bike-friendly atmosphere arrangement inside the freeport zone.
