CLARK FREEPORT — Officially bringing back the leisure activities slowly at this freeport, the Greater Clark Visitors Bureau together with El Kabayo organized its first Sunday Market bazaar at El Kabayo open grounds on Sunday.
According to El Kabayo owner Rina La O, the Sunday Market aims not only to jumpstart the tourism and leisure industry but also help their colleagues as they turn to selling various products to adapt to the current situation brought about by the pandemic.
“Tourism, I feel, will not die. People would still want to go out. It is important for the mental health and welfare of people to go out. El Kabayo has the venue which is conducive for the kind of atmosphere that we need now. By bringing people together with the implementation of the safety protocols from our tents, toilets, washing area, and social distancing, we figured we need to do something in order to recuperate,” said La O.
“That in mind, we wanted to help our brothers and sisters in the tourism sector. During the height of the Covid, we noticed that they reinvented themselves into becoming resellers of different products, medical supplies, etc. They had to survive also. So, we thought of joining ourselves together and helping each other,” she added.
Among the vendors and merchants are: Anna’s Greens and Crafts, Atin Keni Online Store, Batis Asul, Bini Cafe, Charisma Farms, Confectionery, Don Don Tei, Emilia’s Cusina Artisano, Holy Bee Trading, Lola Nor’s Meryendahan, Mama Shine Flavors of Siam, Mountain Clark, Patchi’s Tamales, Smoke and Spices Grill, Sobremesa, Taste of North, Y Square Tours and Travel, and more.
La O also mentioned the upcoming Horse Fest Horse Activities and Events which is set on Saturday, November 21.
“Next week, Saturday, we will have the Horse Fest here as it was canceled due to the effects of Typhoon Ulysses. I hope we can already continue with the Sunday Market and make it regularly,” she said.
The Sunday Market is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For standard safety measures and protocols, 15 years old and above are allowed to enter the bazaar. No face mask, no entry is strictly enforced.
