Adobo in the time of MECQ.
SAMAL, Bataan — The “Kusina sa Barangay” or the free cooked food distribution program of the provincial government of Bataan rolled on Monday with chicken adobo as the first recipe in a barangay in this town.
Barangay Sta. Lucia chairman Hector Forbes with kagawad Juanita Evora and other village officials led in the distribution of the chicken adobo in sitios Tumalad, Kamandiis, and Kabyawan.
With the use of their barangay service vehicle, the group distributed the dish house-to-house to grateful residents.
The village head said the program of Gov. Albert Garcia, who he thanked for always thinking of the welfare of his constituents, was aimed at helping residents especially during the pandemic.
“Malaking tulong ito sa aking mga kabarangay lalo na doon sa mga nasa lower status ng pamumuhay. Ito’y bilang pandagdag na pang-ulam sa kanila,” Forbes said.
He said the free food distribution will go on every day until the fund allocated by the provincial government is consumed. Under the program, the provincial government provides the budget while the barangay prepares, cooks and distributes the food.
Forbes said Governor Garcia has already given to his barangay 700 bags of 25 kilos of rice and food packs for those quarantined.
