BALANGA City – The provincial government of Bataan and the Board of Investments are one in describing the province as ripe for more investments as it held the 1Bataan Semicon and Electronics Summit 2025 at the Tourism Pavilion here on Friday.
Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III, 3rd district Rep. Maria Angela ”Gila” Garcia and DTI Usec. Ceferino Rodolfo, BOI managing Head, all said that Bataan is investment- ready with its strategic location, good infrastructures, skilled workforce and business-friendly local and provincial governments, among some others.
Ceferino even announced that the investment climate of the country is not affected by the “political noise” and foresaw more investments for Bataan and the Philippines.
The governor in addition is promoting electric vehicles with solar-powered charging stations and encouraged the use of solar panels in schools. He discussed why one should invest in Bataan.

Congresswoman Gila Garcia spearheaded the summit. “Hiniling natin na ang mga stakeholders natin ng industriya, ng government, ng academe, ay magtipon-tipon para mag-collaborate.”
“Kasi sa buong mundo, ang semi-conductor at electronics play a vital role sa ating ekonomiya. Kaya ang bataan being in strategic location with central Luzon with the bridge connecting Region 4A with the National Capital Region and central Luzon, malaki ang role natin para sa pag-unlad ng ating semicon at electronics industry,” she said.
What Gila Garcia meant was the planned 32-kilometer Bataan – Cavite Interlink Bridge that will cross Manila Bay.
She said that in the whole world, the projected investment trajectory for 2030 is one trillion dollars. Sana tayo sa Pilipinas lalo na sa Bataan ay may malaking bahagi doon sa value chain ng semicon at electronics industry.”
Gila Garcia said that Bataan is near the Bases Conversion Development Authority and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and has its own economic zones – Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan and Hermosa Ecozone.
“Ibig sabihin, handa tayo para sa pag – attract ng mga investor at locators dito sa atin,” the congresswoman said.
AFAB, SBMA and Hermosa Ecozone conducted brief presentations.

In attendance were Bataan mayors led by League president Antonio Raymundo, 1st district Rep. Tony Roman, Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, business leaders and members of the academe.
The provincial government and BOI signed a memorandum of agreement on the promotion of investments and investor servicing. (30)
