BALANGA CITY — The Department of Social Welfare and Development has continued extending financial assistance to persons with disability in Bataan under its Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
For two days, Wednesday and Thursday, more than 3,000 PWDs from Mariveles and Hermosa towns benefitted from the program.
The provincial social welfare and development office and the municipal social welfare and development office of the corresponding municipality led in the distribution of the cash assistance.
Each PWD received P2,000 as food subsidy from DSWD. PWDs from the town of Samal were scheduled to get theirs Friday.
Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III said the provincial government will continue in coordinating with agencies of the national government for needed assistance especially to the less fortunate in the province.
Joining in the AICS payout were Pusong Pinoy Partylist Rep. Jett Nisay and 1st District board member lawyer Tony Roman.
