BALANGA CITY — The Bataan Police Provincial Office here announced Friday that it has placed its whole unit in 11 towns and one city on full alert status due to tropical depression Henry.

Bataan police director Col. Romell Velasco said the alert was in line with PNP chief Lt. General Rodolfo Azurin, Jr.’s “Malasakit + Kaayusan + Kapayapaan = Kaunlaran” program.

Velasco said the BPPO has conducted the accounting of personnel and assigned search and rescue personnel with the necessary equipment on standby, ready to respond at any moment notice.

He said the whole Bataan police has coordinated and ready to cooperate with other agencies and all the 12 local government units in the province to assure the safety of residents. He said they have also appealed to the public to be ready and alert.

“Inaabisuhan rin ang lahat ng mga mangingisda na huwag nang pumalaot gayon na din ang publiko na huwag nang maligo o pumunta sa baybaying dagat upang maiwasan at walang maitalang anumang hindi inaasahang trahedya,” Velasco said.

Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III said that PAGASA has issued a heavy rainfall warning at 1:15 in the afternoon that Bataan is under orange warning or heavy rainfall for one to two hours.

“Be prepared for threatening rising water or flooding in some parts of the province. Different government agencies were alerted to be ready to undertake evacuation if necessary,” the governor said.
