BALANGA CITY – Bataan province will be under the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) from June 16 to June 31, 2021 after President Duterte approved the recommendation of the national Inter-Agency Task Force.
The new stricter status replaced modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) that for months the province was placed under.
Provincial health office chief Dr Rosanna Buccahan said IATF’s recommendation was based on the provincial IATF June 5 – 11, 2021 report when daily positive cases of the coronavirus disease averaged from 47 to 145.
PHO report as of June 14, 2021 showed there are 9,689 confirmed cases with 1,308 active ones, 8,068 recoveries, and 313 deaths.
Provincial IATF chair Gov. Albert Garcia said they will issue announcements and information related to work, business and other activities and limitations to be imposed.
The governor, meanwhile, asked that health protocols be strictly followed.
Garcia said there are 17 vaccination sites present in almost all 11 towns and one city in the province.
“Hindi na ninyo kinakailangan pang bumiyahe dahil mas nailapit natin ang pagbabakuna kung nasaan kayo habang patuloy ang pagdating ng mga bakuna mula sa Department of Health,” he said.
The governor said inoculation of the first dose is going on for A1 (medical frontliners), A2 (senior citizens), and A3 (persons with comorbidities) and the second dose for A1 and A2.
