BALANGA City, Bataan: Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia 3rd on Wednesday announced that the provincial government of Bataan has distributed free Macbook Air to 2,500 teachers and principals of public secondary schools in the province.
The governor said that the 2,500 teachers and principals in junior and senior high schools received a laptop each at the Bataan People’s Center in Balanga City Monday.
The laptops will be used in the implementation in 2024 of the provincial government’s program in the use of Xepto Learning Management System. Xepto LMS is defined as an education – technology solution that allows teachers to connect, engage and manage their students.
Garcia said that through the LMS, students will have access to learning materials of their teachers although they are already at home to cultivate their being self-learners.
The governor was hopeful that with the laptop, the LMS will be utilized 100 percent by the teachers and principals.
As to why the program will be implemented first in the junior and senior high schools and not yet in the lower grade level, Garcia explained that those in the higher levels are more capable of being self-learners.
“Kapag maganda resulta, susubukan natin sa Grades 6, 5, 4. Titingnan kung ano pinakamagandang diskarte para sa mga teachers sa Bataan,” he said.
The governor said funding for the Macbook Air came from the provincial special operation fund. The LMS program is associated with the free internet program for education earlier launched.
Joining Garcia in the laptop distribution were 3rd district Cong. Gila Garcia, Partylist Rep. Jett Nisay, Vice Gov. Cris Garcia, provincial Board member Jomar Gaza, Mac Center CEO Laurence Sison, Mac Center COO Mirabelle Tan and Bataan Schools Division Office Superintendent Carolina Violeta.
