BALANGA CITY — The provincial government of Bataan on Sunday launched the Technology for Economic Development (Tech4Ed) project of the Department of Information and Communications Technology where eight children, members of the indigenous people in Abucay town, received modern learning gadgets.

Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia 3rd said DICT Region 3 director Antonio Edward Padre led in the awarding of laptop, headset, printer, router and web camera to each of the eight Aeta children from Barangay Bangcal, upland village in Abucay.

In his message, the governor emphasized the importance of keeping up with the changes in technology by constantly finding ways to hone the skills of the youth in this field.

Garcia and Padre signed a memorandum of agreement with Abucay Mayor Robin Tagle, DICT provincial head Gerald Calamaan, and Bangkal barangay chairman Amante Inocencio.

Tagle said a Tech4Ed Center that will give access to different technologies and education will be provided in Bangkal for the IP community that will offer computer access, internet access, training programs, E-Learning and community engagement.
