BALANGA City: Bataan has a new police provincial director who was assigned to his post effective Friday during the change of command rite held in Camp Tolentino in this city.
Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo, Jr., Region 3 police director, led in the turnover of command between incoming Bataan PD Col. Palmer Tria and outgoing PD Col. Romell Velasco.
Tria is a native of Morong, Bataan and was formerly assigned in Davao.
Velasco who is married to a Bataena assumed as Bataan police director on January 8, 2022. He will be temporarily assigned in Camp Olivas, seat of the Central Luzon police office.
Velasco is credited for the prevailing peace and order condition in Bataan, dismantling of suspected drug dens and the seizure of big volume of illegal drugs.
Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia III, 2nd district Rep. Albert Garcia and Vice Gov. Cris Garcia with other local officials attended the ceremony. (30)
