BALANGA CITY — From breakfast to supper, the Bataan provincial government has been preparing and distributing not less than 3,250 food packs daily  to health workers and other frontliners while the province is under the enhanced community quarantine, the governor said Sunday.

Gov. Albert Garcia said they were in full support of frontliners be they in hotels, at the Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC), Bataan People’s Center or checkpoints.

BGHMC was turned Friday into an exclusive hospital facility for confirmed Covid-positve patients while the people’s center was designated as a quarantine facility for hospital workers.

Aside from food, the provincial government also provided free hotel accommodations, transportation and security for frontliners, especially the medical workers. Additional mattresses, pillows, bedsheets and blankets were also being readied, the governor said.

Some 250 foam beds, 400 flat sheets, bed sheets, and pillows were reserved for medical workers who were exposed to those tested positive of the virus and not allowed to go out of BGHMC while waiting for laboratory results.

“Kailangan nilang talagang manatili sa loob ng ospital hangga’t hindi lumalabas ang resulta ng kanilang test kaya pansamantalang gamit nila ay make-shift beds,” Garcia said.

He said that 282 health workers from BGHMC have been billeted in six hotels where they are provided free food and transportation. These workers were those found negative of Covid-19, no exposure with those tested positive and continuously serve at the hospital.

“Lahat ng mga hakbang ay ginagawa ng ating pamahalaang panlalawigan upang pangalagaan ang kalusugan at kapakanan ng lahat, maging mga ordinaryong mamamayan, frontliners or health workers man,” the governor said.
