BALANGA CITY (PIA) — Bataan clinched the Public Service Campaign Award – Provincial Level for its program “Kwentuhan Tayo, Bataeño” during the inaugural Parangal: Gawad ng Kahusayan sa Komunikasyong Publiko of the Presidential Communications Office (PCO).
The award recognizes the province’s exceptional efforts in engaging and connecting with its constituents through effective communication.
In an interview, Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III emphasized the program’s dual purpose: to provide updates on provincial initiatives and serve as a platform for public feedback that helps improve government services.
“We greatly appreciate the recognition given by the PCO for our weekly ‘Kwentuhan Tayo, Bataeño.’ The number of viewers doesn’t matter; even if the audience is small, what matters is that we have a platform to inform our fellow Bataeños about what’s happening in our province,” he said.
Garcia also praised the Provincial Information Office (PIO) for its dedication in organizing the program despite challenges.
Meanwhile, PIO Head Angel Lara noted that the province’s success in the PCO’s Parangal highlights its commitment to promoting meaningful conversations and implementing effective communication strategies that benefit the community.
“The ‘Kwentuhan Tayo, Bataeño’ program is holistic because it is also interactive. We don’t just share news or information, and we don’t simply give prizes to increase viewership. More importantly, it has become a platform where people can seek help if they have any problems,” she added.
Launched on July 4, 2022, the initiative raises awareness of the provincial government’s efforts and fosters unity and pride among Bataeños. Through engaging content, it resonates with a wide audience, including students, professionals, families, and entrepreneurs. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
