BALANGA CITY, Bataan – More than 900 teachers from private and public schools here joined the World Teachers Day celebration, temporarily leaving for a day their classrooms.
“May ganitong pagtitipon sa buong mundo sapagka’t ang mga guro ang prime mover sa progreso ng buong mundo,” city schools division supt. Jessie Ferrer said. Bataan Gov. Enrique Garcia graced the occasion.
The teachers brought with them their own food and snacks at the La Vista Inland Resort in Balanga City where a short program was held.
They also participated in group singing. Some male teachers from a private school played their own musical instruments and wooed other teachers with their romantic songs.
Teachers came wearing T-shirts of various colors, some inscribed with “My Teacher, My Hero.”
The program ended with the awarding of certificates to outstanding teachers, principals and supervisors. In the afternoon, there were dances, parlor games and relaxing moments for the teachers.
