BALANGA C
ITY — Bishop Ruperto C. Santos of the Diocese of Balanga on Tuesday got his second vaccine shot against the coronavirus disease.

The Bataan prelate received his final dose of Sinovac at the Lou-is Resort, the vaccination site for Balanga City residents.

“I am grateful to be part of the solution and in full support and spread of vaccine awareness. Get vaccinated,” Santos said.

He noted that being vaccinated is also a form of service to others whom we meet to avoid the spread of the dreaded virus.

The bishop thanked the healthcare workers who attended to him and the others.

“Our hearts are full of gratitude for our healthcare heroes who commit themselves to fight Covid-19 and save us. Your resiliency, compassion and strength in keeping our communities safe and healed are forever etched in our hearts,” Santos said.

Provincial health office chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan said that 16,162 medical and non-medical frontliners have so far been vaccinated with the first jab.

He said that vaccinations are going on in inoculation centers in the towns of Limay, Orion, Mariveles, and Dinalupihan and the Bataan People’s Center and Lou-is Resort in Balanga City.

Buccahan said Bataan has so far received from the Department of Health 18,480 single dose per vial of Coronavac and 569 of  10-12 doses per vial of AstraZeneca.
