BALANGA CITY — Bataan Bishop Ruperto C. Santos on Monday encouraged overseas Filipino workers to vote from April 10 – May 9, 2022 in their respective embassies and consular offices.
“Please use your free time and make the best effort to cast your votes and remember you have your ‘Ks’,” the bishop of the Diocese of Balanga said, explaining the three “Ks” as “your vote is your Karapatan,” “your vote is your katungkulan” and “your vote is your kinabukasan,”
Santos said this is an appeal from the Catholic Bishop Conference of the Philippines’ Episcopal Commission on Migrants and Indigenous Peoples, and Stella Maris-Philippines.
“Go out and vote and bear in mind your situation as OFWs. Vote for those who protect you from inhuman treatment and unjust practices. Vote for those who promote your rights and dignity and for those who prosecute those who have victimized you,” the prelate said.
Santos asked the OFWS to remember that the CBCP- ECMI and Stella Maris are always praying for them and working for their safety, salvation, and security in life and works.
