OLONGAPO CITY— In line with the PNP’s BARANGAYanihan Programt, the Olongapo City Police Office under the leadership of Col. Jeric P Villanueva launched a “Bike for a Cause” project to help residents adversely affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Villanueva said that the event aims to empower nine recipients among the poorest of the poor selected from different areas of the city to give them an opportunity to earn a living by means of bicycles and pushcarts with assorted goods for their additional source of livelihood.
Anong the recepients were Solidad Joben and Marcelino Sentillas of Barangay Kalaklan, Javy Pangilinan of Barangay New Ilalim, Aldrin Cañete and Rebeca Arevalo of Barangay New Cabalan, Eddie Boy Rivera of Jolo Tabacuhan, Benzar Gravina and Uldario Salve of Barangay Barretto.
Thirty-six bikers’ groups in Olongapo City joined the “Bike for A Cause” where rewards were handed by Villanueva to a PWD, as well as to the youngest and oldest bikers who participated in the event.
Villanueva thanked the city government and all the participants “for their invaluable support that led to the success of our Bike for a Cause.”
