SAMAL, Bataan: A small barangay in Samal, Bataan has earned a top distinction in the country’s 2025 Lupon Tagapamaya Awards (LTIA) in the regional level.
Barangay Sta. Lucia is the regional winner in the 4th Class Municipality Category, meaning, it will represent Central Luzon in the national competition.
Punong Barangay Hector Forbes of Sta. Lucia and Samal Mayor Alex Acuzar as well as the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Ronnie Ortiguerra are so proud of the feat of the barangay.
Three other barangays in Bataan have also brought honors to the province – Barangay Cupang Proper in Balanga City as regional winner in the Component City Category, Barangay Bilolo also in Balanga City as Ist Runner-Up in 2nd Class Municipality Category and Barangay Omboy in Abucay as Regional Winner in 3rd Class Municipality Category.
Barangays Omboy and Cupang Proper like Barangay Sta. Lucia will represent Central Luzon in the LTIA national level competition. (30)
