CABANATUAN CITY – A 41-year-old barangay official was caught red-handed in a drug buy-bust in Barangay Nabao here during the weekend.
Newly installed city police chief Lt. Col. Barnard Danie Dasugo identified the suspect as Noli Anwar Diaz, single, councilman of Barangay Aduas Centro here.
Investigation showed an undercover member of the station drug enforcement unit managed to buy one sachet of shabu, using a marked P500 bill, from the suspect at about 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
After the arrest, the suspect allegedly yielded three more sachets of shabu and the marked money.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 were filed against the suspect now detained the at the city police’s male custodial facility.
