SAMAL, Bataan — The Barangay Sta. Lucia Health Station here held a bingo-like game to serve
as bonding for mothers on Valentine’s Day with no expense for the players but with a chance to
win prizes.
Rural health midwife Lolita Elvambuena Poblete called the game as Valentine’s Bingo with cards
similar to bingo but with different figures about the day of the hearts instead of numbers.
Participants in the game were mothers with children from five years old and below. Poblete
said they thought of the project to provide bonding time for mothers especially during
Valentine’s Day and to lure them to come to the BHS to know more about safe motherhood.
Barangay council,
BHS, ang nagbibigay ng papremyo,” the midwife said.
Among the prizes were a kilo of rice, some other food items and chocolates.
Poblete first briefed the participants on safe motherhood before the start of the game.
batang hindi bakunado,” she said.
Assisting the midwife in the activity were her daughter barangay health nutrition scholar
Architect Karl Engelene Poblete and barangay health workers.
The activity has the full support of Barangay Sta. Lucia chairman Hector Forbes and members of
the barangay council.
