BAGAC, Bataan — This municipality’s Special Task Force Covid–19 on Tuesday imposed an extreme enhanced community quarantine in the mountain town following the confirmation that a third patient in Bataan was found positive of the coronavirus disease 2019.
Mayor Rommel Del Rosario, chair of the task force, said Bagac was fortunate for having no one infected with the deadly virus but that they have to implement stricter measures so as to prevent the entry of the disease.
Starting Tuesday, no one will be allowed to enter and leave the town except those authorized by the national government. A 24-hour curfew was imposed.
“Ang sinomang lumabas ng pamamahay na hindi kabilang sa pinapayagan at walang karampatang dokumento ay ikukulong,” the mayor said.
In anticipation of the big number of those who will be detained, Del Rosario said the task force coordinated with the Department of Education to permit the municipality to use classrooms as temporary detention/holding areas to be able to implement the social distancing policy.
“Kaya makiisa po tayo. Hindi kami magdadalawang–isip na kayo ay hulihin at ikulong. Ganun din sa mga ayaw magpasuri sa mga medical frontliners natin, makipagtulungan po tayo sa ating mga kawani ng pamahalaan,” he said.
The issuance of the home quarantine pass and other authorized certification are still in effect that checkpoints in place in the national highway and barangays will strictly impose, Del Rosario said.
Social distancing will have to be followed at all times and in all areas in the town. Sari-sari stores will only be allowed to open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Supplies for food packs were already distributed indifferent barangays that their respective village heads will hand to beneficiaries based on existing protocols, considering the social distancing policy, the mayor said.
“Let us pray that we will surpass this virus and all the sick be healed,” the mayor and Vice-Mayor Michael Alexis Del Rosario said.
