BAGAC, Bataan — Fishermen in a village here adjacent to the West Philippines Sea said Tuesday that big waves greatly affected their livelihood.
Melvin Agisa of Barangay Pag-asa said he has not gone out fishing for almost a month due to the storm surge causing turbulent waves.
He said his problem got worst with the destruction Monday night of their house by the waves. “Washout ang aming bahay, inanod talaga.”
Asked about his livelihood, Agisa answered “sa ngayon wala talagang pangkabuhayan, walang pagkukunan. Mahirap talaga.”
Agisa said that like other fishermen, he was fortunate to save his fishing banca by bringing it to higher ground.
Pag-asa barangay chairman John Harry Carreon said that no banca was damaged.
