BALANGA CITY –– The first baby girl of a teenaged couple in Orion, Bataan was born at 12:06 in the morning of Sunday, earning her a spot in the list of the Population Commission as one of the 100 millionth Filipinos.

Jelo Mae is the first child of the still-unwed couple, the mother a 17- year old former carinderia helper and the father, a gasoline station attendant. The baby was born by normal spontaneous delivery at the delivery room of the Bataan General Hospital here, where the mother is now recuperating.

Jenny Guerra, 44, said the baby is her first grandchild. The baby’s mother is her second to the eldest daughter.

The family lives in a modest house at the side of the Roman Superhighway in Barangay Sta. Elena, Orion town.
