OLONGAPO CITY – A member of the Philippine National Police who had gone AWOL and his lady cohort were arrested by operatives of the city police an anti-drug operation in Barangay Barretto here.
Report said that about 7 p.m. of Monday, a police poseur-buyer was able to purchase a sachet of shabu worth P500 from the suspects at Jolo Street corner Ilo-Ilo Street, Barangay Barretto, prompting their immediate arrest.
Police Station 6 chief Lt. Norbert Jimenez identified the suspects as Mark Anthony Apostol y Mendoza, 38, single, jobless, AWOL cop who is also included in the PS6 drugs watchlist, and Bernadette Laguidoefe y Languido, 39, single, jobless, both of #42, Jolo Street, Barangay Barretto, Olongapo City.
Five transparent plastic sealed sachets containing suspected shabu worth P40,800 were recovered from the suspects.
The suspects now face charges for violation of Section 5 and 11, Article II of R.A. 9165 at the City Prosecutor’s Office.
