ANGELES CITY – Garnering 94 gold medals in the recent regional Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) meet in Olongapo City, Angeles University Foundation (AUF) is set to lead the Central Luzon delegation this April for the national collegiate games in Zamboanga City.
Jeffrey Jervoso, AUF sports coordinator, said all the teams who will compete in the national games are undergoing rigorous training.
“Our athletes now receive enough encouragement to strengthen their discipline through exerting great effort to train hard and concentrate on giving pride to AUF,” he said in a statement.
AUF’s baseball men, basketball men, volleyball men, track and field men and women, taekwondo men, taekwondo women, swimming men, and swimming women bagged the (overall) championship in the PRISAA regional competition. AUF also garnered 47 silver medals and eight bronze medals.
Other athletes from other teams like table tennis have been chosen by champion teams from other schools to also play for the PRISAA national collegiate games in Zamboanga City on April 10-16.
“Many parents support our student-athletes and their coaches, which only shows that they really give our school the needed boost,” Jervoso said.
