MABALACAT CITY – Exactly 35 days since the start of construction, the Atlu-Bola Bypass Road connecting the NLEX Sta. Ines Exit to the barangays of Mangalit and Atlu-Bola is officially opened to traffic on March 20, delivering on its promise to alleviate heavy traffic flow to the city proper and its contiguous areas.

Leading the opening of the thoroughfare were Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon, NLEX Corp. president and general manager Luis Reñon, Pampanga 1st District Rep. Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin II, and Mayor Geld Aquino, who, during a high-profile site inspection last Jan. 31, committed themselves to complete the project in 60 days.

They were joined by Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Vice Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Clark Development Corp. president CEO Atty. Agnes VST Devanadera, DPWH-3 director Arnold Ocampo, Vice Mayor Jun Castro, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod.

The project was implemented through the collaboration of the DPWH, Toll Regulatory Board, Metro Pacific Tollways Corp., and the city government.

Secretary Dizon said the Atlu Bola Bypass Road is part of the broader infrastructure development plan for the city that includes the Dolores Connector Road and San Joaquin Bypass Road, connecting Pampanga Technopark to Barangay Tabun. Punto News Team/Mabalacat City News
