Clark, Philippines, July 12, 2023 – Global tech care company Asurion officially opened the doors of its new tech support customer service center in Clark, Pampanga as the company expands its presence in the country. On July 12, the company held a roundtable discussion and ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the grand opening.
The roundtable discussion, which discussed maximizing tech opportunities outside the metro, was followed by an opening ceremony, attended by distinguished guests such as Hon. Cherry Manalo, representative of Gov. Dennis Pineda, Board of Investments (BOI) Acting Director Mary Anne Raganit, and Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Tourism Manager Noemi Julian, representative of CDC Vice President Atty. Noble Mina Meneses, who recognized the significance of Asurion’s investment in the region.
Clark Site Director Trevor Williams expressed his enthusiasm for offering more tech opportunities in prime business locations in the country with immense potential, such as Clark. “We are excited to expand our Philippines operations to Clark, given its growing infrastructure, talented workforce, and vibrant atmosphere which aligns with the company’s customer service promise to help make tech approachable for our customers.”
Maria Pinchevsky, Senior Vice President for Customer Solutions at Asurion, acknowledged the crucial role that technical support plays in the company’s business. She commended the Filipino workforce for their significant contributions, crediting them as an integral part of Asurion’s success.
“The smart home market is growing. More and more consumers are adding smart tech such as smart TVs, connected security systems and even smart appliances, and many of these consumers are looking for support and protection,” said Pinchevsky. “We are very fortunate to be growing our operations in the Philippines to support these customer needs.”
The roles created include technical support, customer care representatives, with additional human resources, operations, training, and support positions. The robust hiring, which began in January, is part of a global push to accommodate Asurion’s continued growth in the tech services industry. It currently employs more than 5,000 people across four facilities in the Philippines, including a distribution center in Calamba City, an IT services facility in Manila, and two customer service centers in Santa Rosa and Iloilo, respectively.
Asurion’s new home in Clark is at the Three West Aeropark building. The location provides additional office space to accommodate future growth, with Asurion occupying the 2nd, 11th, and 12th floors.
