Assistance of TESDA Zambales to Fire Victims in Olongapo City

TESDA Zambales participated in providing assistance to the families who were devastated by a fire incident in Kessing St., Barangay New Kalalake, Olongapo City on June 1, 2021. The assistance program was initiated by the Office of the President and Senator “Bong” Go.

Prior to the relief goods and cash assistance distribution by Sen. Go, TESDA conducted profiling and training assessment of the fire victims to help them towards getting employment opportunities and venture in a livelihood endeavor. As a result, it was determined that some members of the affected families are interested to undergo training in Computer System Servicing (CSS), Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) and Automotive Servicing. 

During the relief assistance program conducted on June 5, 2021, TESDA has informed the victims that their requested training will be covered by TESDA’s scholarship program. The CSS NC II and BPP NC II can be availed in the private TVIs in Olongapo City which have allocation provided by TESDA while the Automotive Servicing NC II can be provided by PTC-Iba. Other training programs available was also offered to them. 

The office of Senator Bong Go provided cash, food packs, facemasks, vitamins, and meals. The LGU of Baranggay New Kalalake assisted the victims with the clearing operation while the DSWD gave cash support under its Assistance for Individuals in Crisis Situations program.

In addition to the training programs that will be provided to them, TESDA also donated food groceries and hygiene kits to the fire victims on June 7, 2021.
