CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – The Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 41 issued a warrant of arrest against the suspect in the brutal killing of three persons at a bar near the Pampanga Police Office here last August 22.

Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) Pampanga Chapter President Atty. Aramis Benoza disclosed that Branch 41 Judge Divina Luz Simbulan had issued on September 11 a warrant of arrest against Benedicto Pasiguen of this city, a non-uniformed personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

The IBP offered free legal services to the family of the victims identified as Melanio Salonga, 49 and his son Jefferson, 24, and Mark John Manalese, 20.

Benoza said the multiple murder case was originally raffled off to RTC branch 43. But the presiding judge inhibited himself because the brother of the complainant works at the said branch.

It could be recalled that Pasiguen shot the three victims at the Fraulein Grill Bar after they figured in an argument with the suspect’s friend, Alex Briones.

Atty. Paul Maglalang, IBP-Pampanga secretary, earlier asked the regional police authorities to impose sanctions on members of Pampanga police for “inaction.” He added that the grill bar is located “within spitting distance” from the provincial office where  Pasiguen reportedly ran to without being arrested.
