CAPAS, Tarlac (PIA) — Army Commanding General Lieutenant General Romeo Brawner Jr. lauded the initiatives of the Armor Division on mental health and reforestation.
During the 47th Founding Anniversary of the combined arms organization, Brawner recognized the upgraded services of the division’s facility which aims to maintain and promote the personnel’s mental health in a multidisciplinary setting.
The Mental Health and Resilience Desk assists in the prevention, early detection, treatment and management of mental disorders.
“We recognize the importance of mental health. In the [Philippine] Army, we do not only put a premium in the physical health of soldiers and their families. I would like to commend the Armor Division for putting up this facility as our soldiers now have a place to go to,” Brawner stressed.
He cited how the Philippine Army augmented soldiers and their families who experienced trauma especially during the pandemic.
Moreover, Brawner highlighted the “Water is Life” Agri-Reforestation Project of the Armor Division and the Tarlac Heritage Foundation in line with the current administration’s program to ensure that the country is self-sustaining in terms of food security.
The project is an eight hectare lot, inside the reservation of the division, with a vegetable garden, fruit-bearing trees, bamboo, various plants, and livestock.
Apart from the new initiatives, the commanding general lauded the support of Armor Division in the implementation of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ campaign objectives, which resulted in the surrender and the recovery of several firearms, and capture of individuals from the communist terrorist groups.
“The Philippine Army’s mounted warriors remain as a formidable force at the forefront of our nation’s battles, complementing our troops’ warfighting capabilities, maneuvering our force towards achieving victory against adversaries,” he stated.
He urged the men and women of Armor Division to continue accomplishing their mandated tasks, and embodying their objectives.
“Ultimately, together as one Team Army, we shall win our nation’s battles, sustain our operational gains, and most importantly, we shall remain victorious amidst the threats to our country’s internal peace and stability,” Brawner said.
This year’s celebration is anchored on the theme, “Armor @ 47: Lethal, Excellent, Adept, Decisive”. (CLJD/TJBM PIA-3)
