SAN JOSE, Tarlac (PIA) — Armor Division commended the accomplishments of 3rd Mechanized Infantry Battalion (3rd Mech) particularly on counterinsurgency.
The unit succeeded in its mission to defend and secure peace in its area of responsibility, namely the provinces of Tarlac and Zambales.
Armor Division Commander Major General Facundo Palafox IV said 3rd Mech has become a show window for what the Armor Division has to offer in the realms of Internal Security Operations.
“Soon, it may become the nucleus and a standard for a Mechanized Infantry-centric Army in Luzon that will help achieve the vision of the Philippine Army that has transitioned for territorial defense capability,” he emphasized during 3rd Mech’s 18th Founding Anniversary celebration.
Palafox encouraged officers and enlisted personnel to continue upholding integrity and strengthening cooperation in pursuing campaigns of the battalion.
The official led the awarding and promotion ceremony of those who excelled in performing their duties.
For his part, 3rd Mech Commander Lieutenant Colonel Jeszer Bautista thanked national government agencies and private organizations who became their partners in civil military operations.
Ancillary activities of the anniversary include barrio fiesta, sportsfest, folk dance competition, fun run, community outreach program, and fun shoot. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
