Efren Capitan, 58, Lucanin barangay kagawad, said his wife Gloria, 57, sustained three gunshot wounds from a .45 pistol, two in the neck and one in the arm. “Hinawakan sa balikat ang asawa ko, itinutok sa leeg niya ang baril at pinaputok,” he said.
The victim was president in Lucanin of the cause-oriented group Kilusang Pambansang Demokratiko (KPD).
The husband said that the gunman wore a crash helmet while his cohort had a towel covering his face. He said one of his grandchildren rode a motorcycle and tried but failed to catch up with the gunmen who fled towards Balanga City on a motorcycle.
“Kung sino man ang may kagagawan sa asawa ko, sana pagbayaran mo ginawa mong pagpatay,” the husband said. “Sa bagong Presidente, kasi wala naman akong alam na kalaban ang asawa ko…,” his appeal to President Rodrigo Duterte was cut short by sobs.
The victim was inside her videokehan with an old woman and two small boys when the gunmen arrived at 8 p.m.
An eight-year old boy suffered a scratch from stray bullet on the arm. The boy said he was seated on a mono-block chair near the videoke when a man shot his grandma who was fixing the curtains of the videokehan.
Police in Mariveles said they were still conducting investigations.
