Another alleged drug pusher killed

    CABANATUAN CITY – Another suspected drug peddler was killed by motorcycle-riding men in Barangay Sanbermicristi here Saturday evening, police reported.

    Supt. Manuel Coronel, chief of the city police, identified the victim as Herminio Manansala, 56, a resident of the said place and listed no. 26 at local drug watchlist.

    Investigation disclosed Manansala was walking along Gen. Tinio St. this city when peppered with bullets by the suspects at around 8:30 p.m.

    The victim died on the spot. Police recovered from the crime scene five spent shells from a cal. 45.

    Coronel said that based on records, the victim has been jailed at the Cabanatuan City District Jail for drug offenses.

    He was also the latest person linked with illegal drugs trade to have been killed here this year.

    Last month, Reymunda Lapina from Barangay M. S. Garcia, known as shabu queen having been charged several times for drug pushing, was killed along with his brother, Arturo Lapina, 60, in Barangay Bantug.

    The victims were on board a pick-up driven by Arturo when shot by the suspects along the busy national road. Arturo reportedly continued running the vehicle in an attempt to escape but was even tailed up to several meters away by the suspect who continued to pump handguns.
