ANGELES CITY – A barangay captain here who is an ally of Mayor Francis “Blueboy” Nepomuceno withdrew his resignation after his councilors persuaded him not to leave.
Agapito Del Rosario Village Chief John Sladky said yesterday he had filed his resignation letter due to “family and personal problems.”
“I used some of our savings just to fulfill my obligation to the people. It angered my wife,” said Sladky in the dialect.
Asked to comment on the reports that he resigned after the mayor had failed to fulfill his campaign promises to him, Sladky said: “That’s a minor reason. I was asking the mayor to provide me JO [job order] workers to help me clean the streets.”
“I took back my resignation after my councilors had asked me to finish our terms and the jobs,” said Sladky who refused to give the names of the councilors.
