ANGELES CITY – Police have responded anew to calls by Mayor Edgardo Pamintuan to launch an all-out war against all forms of criminality, recovering two stolen cars and arresting three suspects on board the vehicles on Saturday.
Pamintuan gave certificate of recognitions to Senior Supt. Danilo Bautista, city police director, and Station 3 commander, Chief Insp. Romeo Castro and his team on Monday during the flag-raising rites at the city hall.
Pamintuan said the two cars – Toyota Altis and Mazda – have been recovered during an operation led by Castro at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) portion in this city.
Castro said the three suspects on board the two cars cruising together at the highway were identified as Rodel Navarro, Royce Cabacungan and Celso Obaldo, all of Zaragoza, Nueva Ejica.
Castro said the suspects could be members of big-time carnap syndicates based in Nueva Ecijca. Carnapping and falsification of documents have filed against the three suspects.
“They were able to work for the release of the Mazda’s license when it should not had been released yet,” said Castro, adding that the black Toyota had a fake plate number allowing them to sense that the vehicle could be stolen.
Pamintuan said the vehicles will be used as evidence but will be returned to their owners as soon as possible. One of the owners is from nearby Mabalacat town.
The mayor also commended the police team of Castro composed of Sr. Insp. Mauro Mauri, SPO3 Robert Manuel and Elmer Garcia, SPO1 Romeo Guntang and PO1 Miller Carlos.
