ANGELES CITY — The city government, under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, Jr., has completed the conduct of fogging and misting activities in all 54 public schools here to ensure the safety of students and teachers from dengue, as face-to-face classes start in July 29, 2024.

The Anti-Dengue Task Force, formed from the Barangay Outreach Program, has been deployed to all public schools since July 8 to carry out the fogging and misting in the coming days.

“Gusto kong masigurado na ligtas ang ating mga mag-aaral at guro laban sa dengue, kaya naman patuloy ang ginagawa nating fumigation activities sa mga public schools,” Lazatin shared.

Executive Assistant IV Reina Manuel supervised the said fumigation operation.

Meanwhile, Department of Education Angeles City Schools Division Superintendent Engr. Edgard Domingo expressed his sincere gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for the fumigation in public schools in the city.

“These fumigation activities are a great help to protect our learners from dengue. Our salute po to our LGU for always thinking of the welfare of our public schools,” Engr. Domingo said.

Manuel elaborated that aside from the fogging and misting program, the city government is also conducting the 4S strategy — search and destroy, self-protection measures, seek early consultation, say yes to fogging in case of outbreak — against dengue in public schools and the 33 barangays.

Lazatin is also set to participate in nationwide Brigada Eskwela on July 22 by donating paints and cements.
