ANGELES CITY— The city government under the leadership of Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin Jr. is preparing to distribute more than 100,000 sets of school gears and supplies to all students from 55 public schools – Kindergarten to Grade 12 – and 72 daycare centers here.

Each student will receive a backpack with a complete set of school supplies including notebooks, pens, and school shirts paired with a set of shoes and socks, ready to be used for the coming school year.

Lazatin also accounted for some 2,500 daycare students, who will additionally receive textbooks, crayons and coloring pads aside from the mentioned set of school items.

“Mananatili pong edukasyon ng mga batang Angeleño ang priority ng ating administrasyon,” the mayor said.

Distribution of the school items to public schools and daycare centers will commence once these are properly arranged and stacked by sets, and will be personally handed out by Lazatin himself. “Iikot po tayo sa lahat ng public schools at daycare centers sa buong siyudad para ipamahagi ang mga ito sa mga estudyante.” Lazatin added.

As of Aug. 17, the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of Angeles City reported a total of 66,842 enrollees from Grades 1 to 12, which is still expected to rise before the school year opens.

DepEd Angeles City Schools Division superintendent Ronaldo Pozon, expressed his gratitude to Mayor Lazatin for always putting in to priority the needs of the education sector in the city.

“Mayor Lazatin will always graciously provide fourfold of (sic) the support which we and the educators of Angeles City ask of him, and we are always grateful for his leadership,” Pozon said.

It was in 2022 that Lazatin started to distribute full sets of school supplies and gears to Angeleño students to make the process of learning conducive

and elevate the quality of education in the city.

This initiative of Mayor Lazatin also received positive feedback from Angeleno students, teachers and parents.  Angeles CIO
